Meade Co. woman killed in crash with ambulance

FLAHERTY, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police say a woman has died after her car plowed into an ambulance, overturning it.

The crash occurred in Meade County on Thursday evening at the intersection of Ky. 333 and Ky. 313.

Witnesses told troopers the driver of the car failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the ambulance, which was not on an emergency run.

The KSP identified the driver who died as 27-year-old Sarah S. Hottell of Brandenburg.

The ambulance driver and an EMT on board were both thrown out when the vehicle overturned. Another car then struck the wreckage. Both men from the ambulance were taken to a hospital. The driver of the second car was not seriously hurt.
