Med Toss scheduled for next weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The city of Lexington is offering people a safe and environmentally friendly way to get rid of their unused and unwanted medications.

The Division of Police is holding a Med Toss on Saturday, September 29.

The event goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can bring your old and unwanted medications to four locations:

Milward Funeral Home - 1509 Trent Boulevard
Kentucky American Water - 2300 Richmond Road.
Dunbar High School - 1600 Man O' War Boulevard
Walmart in Hamburg

Police want to remind people to keep the medicines in their original containers. They do say you should mark out personal information on the bottle.

You can bring prescriptions, over the counter medicines, liquids and pills.

People turned in 1,446 pounds of medicine during a med toss last April.
