Mercer County Sheriff's deputies caught a burglar in the act.

The Sheriff's Office says deputies found 61-year-old James Elam trying to break into a home on Elmwood Drive on Wednesday.

They say he had gloves on and tools that could be used to break-in.

The Advocate-Messenger reports that Elam is charged with burglary and possession of burglar's tools.
