MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Billy Devine II was arrested and charged for drug trafficking on Monday. More charges could follow as the Postal Service investigates his use of the mail system. Officials say he was using the mail to ship drugs.

Dolly Thompson, a next door neighbor, was surprised by the arrest.

"He seems to be a nice guy," said Thompson.

Devine was arrested inside his apartment. Officials found two pounds of crystal methamphetamine and cash.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service makes sure mail isn't used for illegal activity. They work everyday to ensure illegal drugs are not brought into communities.

However, the accusations aren't a concern for neighbors like Thompson.

"If he comes back, I won't be afraid of him. I hope they let him go," said Thompson.

Devine is expected in court on Monday.
