Wanted man found in Mercer County

Tony Sparks, a wanted man out of Mercer County has been found.

Police say an investigation between the Mercer and Marion County Sheriff's Office resulted in the arrest.

They say he's been taken to the Marion County Jail on a no bond warrant.

The Mercer County Sheriff's Office along with the Harrodsburg Police Department and several other law enforcement agencies are seeking the location of Tony R. Sparks after he was reportedly involved in several disturbances and used a handgun.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Sparks is to be considered armed and dangerous due to the fact that he was armed with a handgun Tuesday night when he caused several disturbances. Police say he brandished the handgun during a confrontation on Whites Lane and Perryville Road. No one was injured despite Sparks using a weapon.

Sparks ran from the scene just before deputies arrived. Multiple law enforcement agencies along with the Lexington Metro Air Unit searched for Sparks but were unable to find him. The Sheriff's Office says they have received information indicating he was picked up in a white passenger car of an unknown make or model.

Mercer County Crime Stoppers are offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information regarding Tony Sparks is urged to contact the mercer County Sheriff's Office at 859-734-4221 or the Harrodsburg Police Department at 859-734-3311.
