Middle school student in Scott Co. rushed to hospital

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A student at Royal Springs Middle School in Scott County was rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning after an incident at school.

In a statement sent to WKYT the school said because of confidentiality, it cannot release specific details of what happened or the student's medical condition.

The Georgetown News-Graphic reports a seventh grade student collapsed during PE class and was unresponsive for a time being before being taken to the hospital by ambulance.

It's believed the student was rushed to UK hospital. We're told staff from the school accompanied the student to the hospital and have been in contact with the student’s family.

In the statement from the school system, Superintendent Patricia Putty said, "Our thoughts are with the student and family during this time. We appreciate the quick response of the teachers and staff of Royal Spring Middle School."
