Isolated showers continue to cling over southern Kentucky in this very muggy air-mass. Any shower could pack heavy rainfall in a localized area this afternoon. Far to our northwest (over eastern Illinois/western Indiana), a line of strong to severe thunderstorms are tracking southeast toward the Ohio River. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 6pm for most of southern Indiana and Eastern Illinois. While this is well outside of our viewing audience, it warrants attention as these storms, if they hold together, could easily head into our northwest counties (in and around I-71) by early to mid-evening. It is something to monitor as the afternoon progresses. In the short-term, we’ll watch the isolated showers and storms brewing over our area this afternoon. Be careful for ponding on roadways.
