Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
Once again we enter a weekend that will feature both a taste of Spring and a return to Winter. All of this happens during a 24 hour period. This is a very familiar set-up for folks in Kentucky. We have seen this several times this Winter.
There should be a nice mix of sun & thin clouds streaming through the skies. Once we work into Saturday night you will see more clouds. Those clouds are associated with a much bigger system.
Sunday will feature a return to Winter. Another system will track just to our south. That system pushes moisture into the area. Initially, it starts out as rain for most. The cold air catches up and forces a transition over to freezing rain, sleet, and snow.
Some accumulations will be possible from this system. We'll have a "First Call" coming out later today. Yeah, it's has enough potential to have a "First Call"
Stay with us for the very latest.
