Mild temps and a lot of rain on the way

Posted: Wed 2:23 PM, Jan 09, 2013

A mild and soggy period is taking shape across the bluegrass state. An area of low pressure will slowly work our way over the next few days. This will cause an increase in showers late tonight into Thursday as temps rise from south to north. Highs will be in the low 60s in the south and low 50s in the north.

Showers and thunderstorms will become more common Thursday night and Friday morning. Highs Friday will warm into the low and mid 60s across the state.

Saturday may be the warmest of the bunch with temps well into the 60s. That's when the next storm system rolls our way with heavy rain from Saturday night into early next week. There could be enough rain to cause some high water concerns.

Much colder air will then move in by the middle of next week.
