"Milder" conditions with a chance at snow

Updated: Wed 9:50 AM, Jan 23, 2013

Can we call being in the 30s today a "warm-up"? Sure we can! Especially when some of us didn't even get out of the teens yesterday. Partly to mostly cloudy skies can be expected through the day with a slight chance at flurries/light snow tonight for the far eastern zones. A dusting-1" max for areas that see accumulation could be expected, so as you can see there won't be much of a problem with this system. Staying dry and cold on Thursday, which brings us to the system on Friday. The past several days have shown a nice swath of snow developing Friday until this morning. Snow is still in the forecast, but weather models have backed off quite a bit on the snow totals. This will no doubt be one of those systems that we will have to let itself iron out the details till 24 hrs out before making a call on how much to expect and where.
