Mission Lexington has new home for health services

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A nonprofit agency in Lexington has a new home to provide free primary medical and dental care for those without insurance.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that Mission Lexington dedicated its new home Sunday. It means that for the first time, its medical and dental clinics are under the same roof.

The dental and medical clinics had been at different locations.

The original clinics provided nearly 10,000 office visits and several million dollars in services. The new dental clinic has twice the treatment space, which will help reduce a waiting list of more than 700 people who sometimes wait months to be seen.

Mission Lexington relies heavily on donations and volunteers.
