Mitch McConnell writes letter on behalf of woman trying to get her daughter back from Africa

Updated: Thu 11:50 PM, Dec 27, 2012

MOREHEAD, Ky. (WKYT) - We have an update on a Kentucky mother's efforts to bring her daughter home from Africa.

In a Facebook message, Noelle Hunter says Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sent a letter to the Mali ambassador to the U.S. to express concern about the case and urge cooperation for her return daughter's return home.

This came after Hunter held a couple of protests outside the Mali embassy in Washington.

Hunter says her ex-husband took their five-year-old daughter to Mali a year ago and refused to return her, despite a court order.
