SOMERSET, Ky. (WKYT) - She’s accused of taking things too far with one of her daughter's friends.

A southern Kentucky mother faces charges over what police say she gave to a 17-year-old boy.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says 39-year-old Ann Marie Alexander sent an inappropriate picture and gave alcohol to the teenager.

Typically, it's teenagers who fall under scrutiny for sending inappropriate text messages---but teens aren't the only ones getting in trouble for texting.

39-year-old Ann Marie Alexander is now accused of sending inappropriate messages to her teenage daughter's friend.

“The lady who has been charged, Miss Ann Marie Alexander, knew the juvenile. He was a classmate with her daughter,” said Detective John Hutchinson with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office say Alexander told the underage boy to delete all of the text messages she sent him.

It wasn’t long after that when his mom contacted the authorities.

When deputies searched the boy’s phone, they say they found texts from Alexander saying that she willing bought alcohol for the underage boy and his friends.

“She didn’t think there was anything wrong with providing alcohol and thought it was better than them going to a bootlegger. Either one is not right,” Hutchinson said.

But that's not all---deputies say Alexander also allegedly sent the boy an inappropriate picture of a man.

Deputies are not sure why Alexander sent the 17-year-old boy the graphic picture or why she sent him the texts.

Regardless of the reason, she is still facing some serious charges and possible jail time.

She admitted to detectives that she provided the alcohol to the child and that she sent the inappropriate image to the child by text message.

Alexander was charged on Thursday with unlawful transaction with a minor 3rd degree and distribution of obscene matter to minors 1st offense.

Ann Marie Alexander’s attorney did not wish to comment on the case.

She is scheduled to appear in court March 6th.
