Rounds of showers and storms continue to push across the region. This action is packing a lot of lightning and heavy rainfall. Flash flooding is possible through Wednesday.
At least we had a nice weekend because this start to the work week will be soggy! Showers have moved in from the south and we won't see that stop any time soon. I expect everyone to see some rain today. Our rain totals will be anywhere from 1-3" in most locations. With an already moist ground, be aware if you live by areas prone to flooding. Showers will continue through the night as the low pressure system streams in from the south. Here's the issue come Tuesday...Along with the area of lower pressure, we will have a warm front tagging along and with the direction the weather models are taking this we would be in an area where strong and possibly severe storms would be an issue on Tuesday morning. This will be mainly for areas east of I-65. This is something to be aware of due to the timing of the overnight/morning hours. By Tuesday afternoon we should be to dry out for most with only lingering showers leftover. Wednesday temperatures will be hard pressed to get out of the 60's with mostly cloudy skies. Thursday will be the day to do any outdoor chores that need to be done. Come Friday and into the weekend another system, although weak at best, will slides through with only a couple of showers, but some MUCH cooler temperatures. By Sunday we could see highs in the 50's! This means that if you are heading out to Keeneland for the weekend you better grab that coat as it will be a fun, but chilly race weekend!
Enjoy your 1st day of October!
