Monroe County man dies in house fire

COLUMBIA, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a man that died in a house fire Saturday night.

The victim, Earnest Walker, 72, of Tompkinsville was found inside the house located on Brown Cemetery Road. Police were contacted around 9 p.m. and when they arrived the house was completely destroyed.

Police say no foul play is suspected and an autopsy is scheduled later this date. They are still investigating.

KSP was assisted at the scene by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, the Monroe County Coroner, Monroe County Fire Department and Mudlick Fire Department.
