More Shigella cases reported in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - We have new information about a string of Shigella cases in Lexington. The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department now reports 35 cases in the city. That's up from 25 last week. Most of those who got sick from the bacteria are children. Health experts say Shigella can cause diarrhea, vomiting, fever and cramps. They say the bacteria is often spread in pools.
