Posted: Thu 8:30 AM, Nov 22, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The holiday shopping season is starting earlier this year. People are willing to camp out for the deals.

The line outside the Best Buy in Hamburg Pavilion grew. It started out with two on Wednesday. By Thanksgiving morning, there were at
least five tents up outside the store.

Some shoppers say they're willing to forego a holiday meal in order to make sure they get the best discounts on this year's hot holiday items.

Several stores are already open today for holiday shopping.
Meijer and Kmart kicked it all off, offering deals at six on Thanksgiving morning.

Walmart, Sears and Toys R Us open at eight Thursday night.
Target will open at nine.

At midnight, Best Buy, Macy's, Kohl's and Fayette Mall will all begin Black Friday sales.

JCPenny opens at six Friday morning, and Dillards will open at eight.
