LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Kentuckians were waking up to more snow Tuesday, especially in central and eastern parts of the state.

The National Weather Service expected as much as 4 inches in mountainous areas.

The weather service says Harlan, Letcher and Pike counties will have snow mainly Tuesday morning, heavy at times, with total accumulation of 1 to 4 inches after possibly heavy snow overnight.

The forecast called for up to 3 inches in other parts of eastern Kentucky, while central Kentucky had a chance of light snow.

Some school districts, including Jefferson County Public Schools, closed Tuesday due to deteriorating road conditions.

Temperatures were expected to be in the 30s across the state with lows Tuesday night dropping into the mid- to upper teens.
