Rounds of showers and storms continue to push across the region. This action is packing a lot of lightning and heavy rainfall. Flash flooding is possible through Wednesday.
The end of the week and weekend look fantastic. Some very pleasant weather will work back into Kentucky on Friday. Daytime highs will drop into the mod 70s and we'll have a less muggy feel to the air. It hasn't been ridiculously muggy, but it has been very noticeable. It was that moisture that helped those showers and storms on Wednesday produce so much rain.
For many of you it will be a 3-day weekend coming at you as we celebrate Memorial Day. That's usually a time of year that is filled with a lot of outdoor activities. Anything you have going on outside should be absolutely fine for Saturday and Sunday. Memorial Day will at least have a few showers and thunderstorms develop. Making it the worst day in the mix.
As we know, Memorial Day is the unofficial start of Summer and just like clockwork we'll have very warm temperatures roll in for the rest of next week. Those highs look to approach the mid and perhaps upper 80s. Remember, the actual beginning of Summer won't be here until June. So this is just an early taste of what June, July, and August are supposed to feel like.
