More winter weather on the way

Updated: Wed 9:50 PM, Jan 16, 2013

We're wrapping up a cloudy and cold day across the bluegrass state. A few areas of drizzle and freezing drizzle will be possible into the evening hours as temps hang around the freezing mark.

A southern storm system will develop late tonight into Thursday and may throw a band of accumulating snow into parts of southern and southeastern Kentucky. Some areas along the Virginia border could pick up several inches.

The rest of the area will see mainly cloudy skies. After a fair start to the weekend, an arctic blast moves in by Sunday and the air into early next week turns frigid. We will likely see a few snow chances during this time.
