A Kentucky mother is arrested after her 10-week-old baby is found dead.
Deputies with the Laurel County Sheriff's Office arrested 29-year-old Rachel Kilburn and charged her with abandonment of a minor.
The sheriff's office was called to a home on Somerset Road just west of London Monday night for a report of a 10-week-old baby that had died.
The sheriff's office says Kilburn left her baby girl with her boyfriend's brother early Saturday morning, telling him their other child had been critically injured in a motorcycle accident and they had to go to Tennessee.
Deputies say the story about their other child turned out to be false. They say Kilburn and her boyfriend spent the next two days partying and the other child had not been injured.
Deputies arrested Kilburn and her boyfriend, 32-year-old Jonathon Haynes after traffic stop near the home where the baby was found dead.
Haynes is charged with DUI and other traffic offenses.
The baby's body has been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
