LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Friday is a big day on the University of Kentucky Campus. Thousands of students are moving into their dorms ahead of a new school year.
The university has spent weeks coordinating the event to make sure move-in day runs as smoothly as possible. Volunteers will be helping students unload their cars and move boxes into their dorms.
Most of the UK dorms are on south campus, and there, students living on odd floors will be allowed to start moving it at 9:00 Friday morning. Students living on even floors can start settling in at 1:00 Friday afternoon.
UK President Dr. Eli Capilouto will be the Kirwan-Blanding complex at Friday morning to welcome students and their families to campus. The Wildcat marching band will also be there to help keep school spirits high.
