LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky National Guard is welcoming home soldiers who were deployed in Afghanistan for nine months.
A statement says a ceremony on Friday will celebrate the homecoming of 15 soldiers with the 613th Engineer Facilities Detachment. The ceremony will take place at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base Annex in Louisville.
During their deployment, soldiers were responsible for training and advising Afghan National Army Engineers and Afghan National Police Engineers on strategies to maintain and sustain facility operations and support base infrastructure.
