It's a shocking twist in an investigation WKYT has been following all day. Thursday night, police have charged a man with murder for the death of a mother of three young children who disappeared while jogging.
Police arrested 28-year-old Christopher Allman. He's also charged with kidnapping and robbery.
The victim, 31-year-old Sarah Hart, was found dead in Russell County hours after she went missing Thursday morning. Police say she was jogging with her sister, but stopped after she became sick. She told her sister to continue jogging.
What started as a search for a missing mother after a morning jog, ended in a murder investigation and a man behind bars. State police now say Christopher Allman killed mother to three Sarah Hart.
"She was a dedicated mother and she worked at the church with her father being a minister," neighbor Josephine McClure told WKYT, "it's just a loss to the neighborhood. A loss to the family, but it's also loss to the neighborhood."
State police now believe Christopher Allman robbed Hart, then killed her.
"Community involvement and all the resources that we've pulled together today really helped us have a quick and efficient ending," explained Kentucky State Police Trooper Billy Gregory, "when you're outdoors in this element, you're faced with a lot of different challenges. Wind and traffic and dust and dirt and search parties, so we've just got to do our due diligence."
