New details emerge about murdered man found in burning home

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - New details are emerging about a murder investigation where a man was found dead inside a burning home.

Aaron Spencer, 23, is charged with arson in the case. Police now say they're looking for a second suspect.

The October 21 fire destroyed Kenneth Payton's home in Winchester. Firefighters found Payton's body after going inside the home.

His girlfriend, Pamela Cantor, was arrested at the scene on an outstanding warrant.

The new information came out during a preliminary hearing for Spencer on Wednesday.

According to the Winchester Sun, a State Police detective testified that Payton's girlfriend told them Payton was assaulted by Spencer and her son, Brandon Guy, before the fire.

Neighbors told WKYT that on the day of the fire, they heard people arguing.

Cantor told State Police that she saw Spencer use gasoline to set the fire.

Spencer claims he left before the fire started.

The Winchester Sun reports that State Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Brandon Guy in connection with Payton's death.

State Police have told us that they still have quite a bit of evidence to process in this case.
