New CentrePointe design released

It's a new preliminary design for a not-so-new building project in downtown Lexington.

"It's time to get this built."

Rick Ekhoff with EOP Architects met with the Couthouse Area Design Review Board, one of several steps in approving final plans for the project, to get feedback on the new design.

"And we left that meeting feeling very assured and very positive that we have their support," add Ekhoff.

"The goal now is to continue to move forward, to continue upon the project based upon public input. Based upon issues that we want to continue to look at."

Ekhoff says there are several points the review board brought up that will be considered before going back to the board in coming weeks.

"It's time to move forward, look ahead, and recognize the positive aspects of what this project can mean to this community," said Ekhoff.

WKYT wanted to ask the people of Lexington what they thought of the pictures.

"About time they do something."

"I work nearby and I think it's really, I think it would be really cool to see something besides the grass."

"Lets do it, lets put it up there. It's beautiful."

Project leaders feel confident that they are on the right track with the new design.
