The list of Kentucky communities with burn bans is growing.

Wednesday, the cities of Corbin and Hustonville, along with Fayette, Woodford, Scott, Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Morgan, Harrison, Nicholas and Mercer counties all issued bans. Several other counties and cities had issued bans previously.

Most of the state is in the grips of a dry spell, and with near-record heat expected later this week, many communities are worried about the threat of fire.

The National Weather Service has also issued a fire weather watch for today, due to the dry conditions.
