Thirty new jobs will soon be available in Winchester now that a new manufacturing plant is moving in.

Governor Steve Beshear spoke before a group of business leaders in Winchester today, welcoming Taica, a manufacturing corporation to North America.

"They work together. They come together work as a team. They obviously ave some great assets here. Being on 64, easy access and 75 not far away. A great workforce," says Beshear.

The manufacturing plant brings a more than $8 million dollar investment to the community. Taica specializes in a variety of products that are seen in our every day lives such as automotive parts, sports equipment, and even furniture.

The Governor took a trip to Japan in May to build this new relationship with Taica and says more investments are on the horizon, "We've got some more stuff in the pipeline. We're continuing to work there. We're also working hard in India. We landed our first Indian owned company not too long ago in Elizabethtown and were going to build on that relationship."

The Taica plant is expected to open in October or November.

Kentucky already has strong relationships with Japanese based companies. There are more than 150 facilities in Kentucky that are operated by Japanese-owned companies.
