Nine hour standoff ends with arrest

JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - A nine-hour standoff between one man and police in Breathitt County ends with the man going to jail.

Police received a call around 4:45 Tuesday morning of two men arguing.

When they responded, no one answered the door. As they were driving away, they heard shots being fired.

“Once they did get him outside the residence, he was fully cooperative and they were able to make contact with him without incident.

The ordeal gave neighbors a scare.

Jonathan Hays is behind bars and charged with four counts of wanton endangerment and one count of menacing.
