Ohio River in Jackson County, West Virginia
ERLANGER, Ky. (AP) - Local government leaders in Northern Kentucky want to see more resolve from their legislative delegation on the Brent Spence Bridge.
According to The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/S5QlG8 ), Boone County Judge-Executive Gary Moore said at the annual State of Northern Kentucky Address on Tuesday that he was calling out the legislators to "step forward" on a plan to replace the bridge.
The Brent Spence carries Interstate 75 over the Ohio River between Newport and Cincinnati. Besides carrying thousands of local commuters daily, the bridge is on the "snowbird route" that many Midwest vacationers use to travel to Florida and the Gulf Coast.
The newspaper could not immediately reach Rep. Joe Fisher of Fort Thomas. The Republican lawmaker has spoken against replacing the Brent Spence with a toll bridge.
