LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky had no answers Thursday night in South Bend as Notre Dame hung a 64-50 loss on the Cats. The Irish have won 41 of their last 42 games on their home floor.

John Calipari's team was able to start quickly and quiet the crowd, jumping to a 12-6 lead. Notre Dame then went on a 21-6 run to go up by 9 points. Archie Goodwin and Alex Poythress both went to the bench in the first half with two fouls. The Irish led by 11 at halftime.

Kentucky never drew closer than 10 in the second half. Notre Dame opened a 55-35 lead when Cameron Biedschied nailed a jumper with 10:20 left in the game. Led by Julius Mays, who finished with 16 points, UK closed the lead to 10 points with 2:35 remaining. But Notre Dame, led by Eric Atkins with 16, easily closed out the game.

The Cats now have a quick turnaround as they host Baylor in Rupp Arena Saturday afternoon. Pregame coverage will begin at Noon on WKYT, tipoff scheduled for 12:30pm.
