LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Plans to build an IMAX Theater in downtown Lexington are moving forward, despite objections from city leaders.
A Dallas-based company wants to build the multiplex theater across from Rupp Arena.
The theater would include an underground parking area and an upscale restaurant.
An architectural review board is raising some concerns about the project.
The Herald-Leader reports that the biggest challenge the company will face is the theater's proposed location, which would require relocating a 1808 Blue Grass Trust home.
Lawyers for the cinema say they will take the board's comments into consideration, but that they will likely still push ahead with the plan.
