Officials arrest two in Scott County for criminal abuse

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) -- A domestic dispute in at a gas station led officials to a couple's arrest for criminal abuse.

Kentucky State Police say they were notified last night of a domestic dispute between Matthew Clifton, 33, and Kimberly Riggs, 27, in a Shell station parking lot in Scott County off I-75.

Police say by the time they got there the couple had left, but pulled them over on I-75.

Inside the vehicle troppers found a child suffering from malnutrition, severe bruising, contusions on her head and legs, severe diaper rash and injuies to her face.

The child was taken to the UK Children's hospital.

Clifton and Riggs are listed in the Scott County jail.
