Officer-involved Frankfort shooting leaves man dead

FRANKFORT, Ky, (WKYT) - A man is dead after a police-involved shooting.

It happened late Sunday night at a home on Winding Way Drive, in Frankfort.

State police say Frankfort police responded to the home after a woman called police to say a man was threatening her.

Once police arrived, officials say the man came out of the home and pointed a gun at the officers.

After being told multiple times to drop his weapon, state police say he was shot by officers on scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.

State police say all officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, pending a thorough investigation.
