SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - It was a busy morning in Scott County with 17 people busted for selling drugs.
Police say the people they were after had sold pills and heroin to undercover officers.
So far, the the sheriff's department and Georgetown Police have arrested seven people.
This is a continuation of an operation that started earlier this year and the third roundup since it began.
Captain Robert Swanigan of the Georgetown Police says, "For us a couple of these people were repeat offenders. They were in the last roundup that we did with the Kentucky State Police just a few weeks ago and they're back in here today. It's very frustrating that they can't break that cycle."
Swanigan says since laws making it harder to get prescription pills have gone into effect they've seen a big increase in heroin use in Scott County.
