The Laurel County Sheriff's Department made their first synthetic marijuana bust since the county passed a ban.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root says that two detectives conducted an undercover investigation at the 49 Fuel Center located just off I-75 , 9 miles north of London. The sheriff says officers went there after getting numerous complaints that the business was selling packets of synthetic marijuana, in violation of Laurel County's newly enacted county ordinance banning sell and possession of synthetic marijuana.

According to the sheriff's office, on Thursday morning, an undercover detective made a purchase of a packet of synthetic marijuana and rolling papers from the 49 Fuel Center.

Police confiscated 143 packets of synthetic marijuana, listed as selling for $20 per packet.

Two people were cited to appear in Laurel District Court, charged with Trafficking Synthetic Marijuana, and Possession Of Synthetic Marijuana.
