FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The U.S. Attorney's Office says an Ohio man has been sentenced to 21 months in federal prison after admitting that he sent a threat to Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear.
U.S. District Judge Danny C. Reeves handed down the sentence Tuesday to 45-year-old Thomas Hargreaves, who pleaded guilty in July to transmitting a threatening communication in interstate commerce.
He was indicted by a federal grand jury last year after federal prosecutors say he sent Beshear a message over the Internet saying, "I AM GOING TO KILL YOU ... WATCH YOUR BACK PIG!"
Prosecutors say Hargreaves made the threat because he was upset over losing his Kentucky Commercial Driver's License.
