Oldham County man wins $1 million Powerball prize

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky's big winner in the recent record Powerball lottery came forward Wednesday morning.

Alex Parker of Oldham County won a million dollars after matching five numbers correctly, he missed the powerball, costing him a share of the 588-million dollar jackpot.

Parker bought the ticket at the Five Star Food Mart in Prospect. The 23-year-old lives with his parents and works at his father's business.

Parker says he didn't come forward sooner, because he was studying to take the LSAT last weekend, he says he hopes to go to law school.

After taxes, he will take home $690,000.
