SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - An early morning accident has claimed the life of a woman in Scott County.
The Scott County Sheriff's Office says 21-year-old Emilee Higgs was heading west on Frankfort Pike around 5 a.m. Sunday when her car crossed the center line and flipped in front of the Scott County Board of Education building.
Lt. Josh Hutchison with the sheriff's office says Higgs was partially ejected from her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say she wasn't wearing her seat belt.
Hutchison says the road was clear at the time of the crash. They also have ruled out speed and alcohol as factors in the accident.
It's unknown how Higgs lost control.
