The coroner says the victim is 22-year-old Taylor Ann Davis, of Lexington. She died of multiple blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.

Crews were called to the scene on Briar Hill Road around 11:30 p.m.

Lexington police tell us the car slammed into a utility pole between Royster Road and North Cleveland Road.

Police say Davis, despite wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Fayette County coroner.

Police say the passenger was a 20-year-old female. She had to walk to a nearby home to call for help.

The woman was transported to UK Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. She was also wearing a seat belt.

The passenger's name has not been released.

Police say they're looking into the possibility that speed was a factor in the crash.
