WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - We're learning new details about a violent crash that killed a Central Kentucky teenager and injured three other people.
The crash happened along Dry Ridge Road in Woodford County, not far from the Fayette County line. Police say a car ran off the road and hit a tree.
18-year-old Ambrielle Brown of Fayette County was a passenger in the car. She died in the wreck.
"It appears that the driver of the vehicle came over a hill here on Dry Ridge and lost control of the vehicle in which the car went off the right side of the roadway and then it appears the driver over corrected in steering which caused him to go off the left side of the roadway and strike the tree," says Lieutenant Daniel Clark with Versailles Police.
Lieutenant Clark believes the driver going down Dry Ridge Road Wednesday afternoon was most likely speeding.
"If you're not traveling at least the speed limit or below, it doesn't take much for you to lose control of the vehicle."
Police had the road blocked for several hours, documenting each detail. Emergency crews rushed the three survivors to UK Hospital. They are not releasing the names of the survivors at this time.
