LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - One person was injured in an early morning crash.

It happened just after 5:30am Monday morning at the intersection of East Third Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Police say a driver ran a red light and slammed into a second car.

Firefighters had to cut a person from the run vehicle. That person was taken to UK Hospital with what police say were non-life threatening injuries.

The intersection was briefly shut down.
