STANFORD, Ky. (WKYT) - In the extreme cold, people need coats to stay warm. A Lincoln County man says he's doing all he can to meet those needs.

A coat drive is underway at the Stanford Baptist Church Family Life Center. The center is filling up with coats, hats, gloves, and boots. Greg Snow started this effort a few days ago and he says he's been overwhelmed by the results.

Snow says he was down and out two years ago when a house fire took everything he owned. Now that he is back on his feet, he says this effort was his way to pay it forward. He took to social media a few days ago, asking people to bring coats for the Salvation Army, Fort Logan Ministries, Isaiah House, and other organizations.

The coat drive will last through three on Tuesday afternoon, with deliveries taking place on Wednesday.

Snow says he's heard that there is a greater need for women's and children's coats.
