Police: One seriously injured by intoxicated driver

Police tell 27 NEWSFIRST one person has been seriously injured in a crash they say an intoxicated driver caused.

The crash happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday night along Elm Tree Lane in Lexington, near York Street.

They say the driver ran up onto the sidewalk and hit a person. The pedestrian had to be rushed to UK Hospital.

The driver was taken to jail for sobriety tests. Officers do believe he was intoxicated while driving.

We are told the driver also hit another car.
