LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Lexington Herald-Leader's website is going behind a paywall.
The newspaper announced the move for Kentucky.com, citing changing times and business models for the print journalism industry.
Without a subscription, you can see 15 free articles every 30 days. A digital-only subscription will cost about $120 per year. Current print subscribers can still access online content for a small fee.
Kentucky.com is not alone.
Four other central Kentucky newspapers are also constructing paywalls. They are the Advocate-Messenger in Danville, Interior Journal in Stanford, Jessamine Journal in Nicholasville and Winchester Sun.
