Pedestrian hit on busy highway, flown to hospital

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman is in the hospital after being hit by a car.

It happened on US 25, north of Williamsburg.

The victim, 30-year-old Melissa Carr, was walking with a friend when she was hit.

The driver stopped to help, and called 911.

Carr was flown to the University of Tennessee for treatment.
