CAMPTON, Ky (WKYT) - You can see in the surveillance video that the thief knew exactly what she wanted. She was very calculated when she broke in to the Wolfe Family Pharmacy last night.
"You can see her attempting to get in and then going to another route. And then actually, you can see her shopping the shelves. She knew exactly what she was coming for," said Wolfe Family Pharmacy manager John Spencer.
The thief, who police have identified as Jessica Chambers, targeted the Wolfe Family Pharmacy Tuesday night, just after 9.
Surveillance video catches her getting in, and eventually filling her arms with pill bottles.
"Mostly hydrocodone, Vicodin, loritab, whatever the street names are. Pain pills, yeah," said Spencer.
After about five minutes in the store, the thief gets away. But police had already been dispatched, and caught up with Chambers twenty minutes later.
"I think it's just, it's addiction. It starts with, it's all money. Just money," Spencer said.
Spencer acknowledges the security system alerting police was what kept the estimated 25 hundred pills Chambers got away with, off the street.
But beyond that measure, he doesn't know what else can be done to keep it from happening again.
"Yeah, other than sleeping here with an AK-47, there's not much else you can do," said Spencer.
The pharmacy tells us this is the second time they've been targeted by thieves in two weeks.
