MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (AP) - Two men have pleaded guilty to charges related to an illegal gambling operation at a market in southeastern Kentucky.
The Middlesboro Daily News reports 42-year-old Harold Wayne Woodward and 79-year-old Dallas Shackleford entered the pleas Tuesday in Bell County District Court. The newspaper reports the men will avoid jail time as long as they forfeit 12 gambling machines and $963 cash seized by Kentucky State Police during a raid.
Police have said the raid came in response to several citizen complaints about illegal gambling at the Cumberland Market.
