Police: 3 charged wanted to rid world of evil

Boone County, Ky (AP) - A gruesome discovery of a torso and legs in a field in northern Kentucky led to the arrest of three men now charged with murder who told investigators they were trying to rid the world of evil.

Boone County Sheriff's Department spokesman Tom Scheben says the three men are accused of killing 19-year-old Daniel Delfin of Walton, then dismembering his body. Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force official Bill Mark says Delfin had been arrested in May 2012 for trafficking heroin near Walton-Verona High School.

Investigators on Thursday were searching for Delfin's head, arms and feet. His torso and legs were found in a field Monday.

Scheduled to appear on court Thursday were 21-year-old Jeffrey Allen of Verona, 23-year-old Anthony Baumgartner of Florence, and 22-year-old Stephen Harkness of Verona.
