Police: Chase leads to recovery of stolen Jeep

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police were able to recover a stolen vehicle after a short foot chase.

It began early Tuesday morning after someone called police to report a couple of men looking into car windows around Fifth and Smith Streets on Lexington's west end.

When police arrived, they say two men took off running from the area. Police chased after them, and say one man dropped a set of keys.

Lexington police recovered the keys, and say it went to a Jeep that was parked in a church parking lot on the corner of Fourth and Jefferson Streets. That Jeep, police say, was reported stolen.

Police do not have a good description of the two men.
